A RESOURCE, A CONNECTION, HERE TO HELP

Are you someone who is blind or visually impaired? Or do you know someone who is?--a friend? a family member? a coworker? KC Cares Blind Outreach is for you. Whether you are independent--largely interacting in the mainstream of society with work, church, school, et al, largely connected with other people who are blind or visually impaired, or a bit of both...we wish to be of service to you. ... Free monthly meals for anyone who is blind or visually impaired and their families regardless of race, gender, religion, or ethnicity. Our free meals happen usually on the last Saturday of each month, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO. We chit-chat, eat, enjoy entertainment, and learn from each other's lives and experiences. ...Peer support/care. Any of our directors or assistants are available with resources in the community, answers to questions about blindness (total or partial), tips for adjustment to recent loss of vision, and more to come. *** Some basic information about total blindness or visual impairment, you will find in succeeding posts day by day. I will also provide links to organizations, events and opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired.
